The reason children tend to be more prone to ear infections is due to the connection of the tube between the middle ear to the back of the nose.
The child’s tube tends to be narrower and doesn’t get good ventilation like an adult does.
However, by the time a child reaches the age of 6-8 the tube will have matured more to an adult level of functioning.
