Dog Allergy – You have a dog, but you are allergic to it. The problem is that you are a very big lover of dogs, but still, you cannot enjoy their absence, because of the allergic symptoms that you get while you are playing with the dog or cuddling it.

Still, the number of breeds that produce very small number of allergens is very small.

Allergens- What Are They?

Substances which you can find anywhere not only in the home, but spread, and which your body cannot tolerate are known as allergens. If you are allergic to some of these allergens, the first contact with some of them will overreact on your body.

Actually, your immune system will produce more antibodies, to beat these substances. It should to mention that these substances are not harmful to your body, but your immune system recognizes them as dangerous, so try to beat them.

First contact will not be so dangerous and your organism will not react as it will react next time. Next reaction of your body with contact of some of these allergens will be showed with the symptoms of allergens, such as: skin rashes, sneezing, swelling, itching, wheezing, difficult breathing, coughing, anaphylaxis or even in the worst-case death.

The most famous reasons that cause dog allergy are dog’s dander, urine or saliva. Still, the majority of people think that fur is the main reason of dog allergy. It is not truth. Fur is not allergens as itself, but while your dog is grooming, collected dander and saliva that spread in the air make ideal conditions for allergy.

Usually, the time that is necessary for these allergens to occur is about five to thirty minutes. But there are examples where allergens come much later than usual.

Dog Breeds- Hypo Allergenic

Usually, the term “hypo allergenic” is used for products intended for skin, also known as skincare products. They are intended for sensitive skin and with using these kinds of products, skin should be less sensitive.

The idea about hypo-allergenic comes with finding out that some dog breeds are less irritating for allergic people. These breeds produce less allergens than other breeds. So, people who are allergic to dogs may also have this pet in their presence without worrying that their body will react.

These hypo-allergenic breeds are also known as low allergy dogs and allergy friendly dogs.

Still, there are and tips which you may follow for properly controlling of your environment with the dogs:

• Try to avoid keeping dog near of your bedroom or even bed
• Use HEPA filter in all places of your home
• Use electrostatic filters for cleaning air in your home
• If you have carpets, you should to free of them, especially if your dog is in home. It is because carpets are the great collectors of dander and all dogs enjoy spending the most time on them
• Try to bathe your dog regularly.
• Also keep clean all things which your dog uses for playing
• If you can purchase, use leather for your sofas.
